Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
I have loved The Big Picture Story Bible for more than a decade. I have read it to all my children, bought it for friends and family and enthused about it to anyone that will listen.
I love the way it teaches the Big Story of the Bible; the way the pictures more than illustrate the text; the themes that are picked up throughout, both textually (God's people in God's place, God's world, God's good word) and visually (the star of the promise, the penalty of blood for sin, the Serpent Crusher/Christ/King).
As we’ve lived and worked in Greece, I’ve longed for our church family here to have access to the kind of accessible Bible resources that TBPSB represent: to be able to engage as a family with the Good News of God’s Forever King, Jesus and to see how relevant the Old Testament is - how alive it is with the fragrance of Jesus.
We are looking to translate and produce a number of family Bible resources to help equip churches and families with the kind of resources that will support them as they seek to follow the instructions of Moses in Deuteronomy 6.
We have Crossway’s permission to produce a Greek version of The Big Picture Story Bible. With the cooperation of Logos publications, we hope to produce 1,000 copies of this great resource in Greek along with some related Sunday School teaching resources. We need to raise €10,000 to get this project off the ground. We need your support!
